Feeding Methods
Feed only amounts that they can eat up. Don’t leave any left over, thrown up and undigested feed in the tank. The best practice is to remove it right after the feeding to protect your pet’s health and reduce any health risks your axolotls might suffer. Try not to feed them too much; it may cause bloating and even kill them. The bite-size should be adequate to the size of their mouth. Holding the food lightly in tweezers jiggle it slightly and when you see the animal to make a lunge at the bite, release the grip and let go of the morsel. Be careful not to injure the axolotl in its mouth area by the tweezers. Another feeding method is to throw the food right into the water and jiggle it gently using a skewer or similar thin stick.
